The owners were very flexible and patient with my itinerary since it ended up changing multiple times before arriving. They provided excellent hospitality and customer service. I’m very appreciative that they let me change my plans multiple times since I was in town for a wedding and my head was all over the place! Would definitely come back.
Absolutely love this place, owner went out of his way to make sure we had a coffee maker so we could have coffee before work! Hope i here for the rest of the work project definitely highly recommend the lamplighter motor inn!!!. Owner even brought me cheese cake
The manager was so kind and helpful when I stayed there unexpectedly due to weather. The room was warm and clean. The bathroom, the same. I felt like I was staying with family! A must stay if you are in or near New London. I would definitely come back!
This is a really lovely, clean and affordable place to stay. Within biking distance to the lake and walking distance to downtown. We had a great and hospitable adventure in New London, NH a few months ago! I'll also add that the front desk attendant was very friendly, considerate and helpful. Wishing him and the Lamplighter Motor Inn a happy fall and upcoming winter.
Rooms were much bigger than any typical hotel room you’d find for 2-3x the price. Very clean. Owner super nice and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again in the future and recommend to others.
I haven't stayed at this inn but want to deeply appreciate the kind gesture of someone who works/worked here(whose name I sadly don't recall), he offered to accommodate four of us stuck in sever snow storm in mid January 2025 on the way back to Boston from Montreal by car. Despite some renovation work happening at the inn, he agreed to offer accomodation after hearing our situation over the phone. We ended up moving forward to Boston despite the storm but wanted to say BIG THANK YOU for your kind gesture while every other hotels shut the door on us that night. I wish I could stay at this inn someday. God bless you!
Large room had plenty of space for a roll-away if needed, or for a family to keep from tripping over each other. Clean and quiet, looked like it may have been recently updated/redecorated. (Certainly no signs of wear on furnishings or carpet). Friendly helpful staff: we were greeted as we arrived, and offered suggestions for where to get a late supper. Main drawback for me was the lack of any type of grab bar or towel/washcloth rack in the shower. Also the bathroom was a little cramped, not sure there would be enough room for a parent to bath a child. Turned out to be an excellent choice for a one night stay, closer to where I needed to be in the morning and cheaper than the chain hotel I also considered. Would definitely stay again if I need to be in that area, and will recommend it to friends.
A little bit above what you would expect from your average motel. Clean and comfortable accommodations. The owner is very nice as are all the staff. Good location if you're spending time in New London.
